The Crane Brothers, Michael and Robert, were born and raised in the Napa Valley. As third generation members of a large, close Napa family, they have a deep appreciation for the good life the Napa Valley has to offer. The premiere release of their exceptional wine, 2001 CRANE BROTHERS NAPA VALLEY SYRAH, is a tribute to the best life has to offer, good times with family and friends enjoying meals together with great food and great Napa Valley wine.

The brothers bring years of varying Napa Valley wine industry experience to Crane Brothers Winery. Brother Robert has experience of over 30 years of home winemaking, in wine hospitality and marketing, and as Wine Educator for a major Napa Valley Winery. Brother Michael is the Crane Ranch winegrower and a Real Estate Broker specializing in Napa Valley vineyard and winery sales.

The Crane Brothers believe that a great wine must come from a great vineyard. The Crane family vineyards at Crane Ranch are located on an exceptional site on the rolling hills above the valley floor on the western side of the Napa Valley between Napa and Yountville. The unique microclimate, cool yet sunny, allows the fruit to fully ripen very slowly, assuring intense flavor, color, and aroma in the wine. The syrah grapes come from three separate blocks, with vines of two distinct clonal selections, and soils of varying complexity. The farming and irrigation programs have been customized to achieve exceptional fruit from each small syrah block..

Only 288 cases of CRANE BROTHERS 2001 SYRAH were produced from 100% Crane Ranch syrah grapes.
